Hi all,
Tim McMahon has arranged for use of the Keene Rec Center, on Washington Street, to begin fly tying classes. We'll start on Tuesday, February 19 and go through March and possibly the first 2 weeks in April. We'll start at 6:30 and go until 8:30 pm each night.

The Fly Tying classes will start teaching and tying basic patterns for the first two weeks. The remaining class time will be determined by the participants and their choices. This could mean tying zonkers, or more dry fly patterns or classic New England streamers for example. The chapter will supply materials and have tools available for class use. The fee is $50 and the classes will run from Feb 19 to March 26 with the possibility of 2 more sessions in April. The classes will be at the Keene Rec Center on Washington Street. Contact Mike Elkavitch, elks61975@gmail.com to sign up or get more information.

The March Meeting will be on Thursday, March 21. The meeting will begin at 6:30 at the Dublin Public Library. The meeting will feature John Magee, from New Hampshire Fish & Game, who will talk about various projects he is involved in. These include stream restorations (Nash Stream, Indian Stream…both are TU projects with Joe Norton and Jim MacCartney) and other TU projects that Colin Lawson is doing (culverts in the Piscataquog River watershed for example, chop and drop projects that Colin has done…there was one in Acworth last November). Also a lake habitat project in Harrisville Lake in 2013 – this is specifically for warmwater fish, and stream restoration work on Warren Brook in Alstead which will benefit trout in the Cold River and somewhat in Warren Brook. Come out and see what is happening in the region as the snow fades away!
