Salmon in the Classroom

The Salmon in the Classroom is a project supported by the Mondanock Chapter. We currently have tanks with salmon in the elementary schools in Keene and Harrisville and we are looking to put one in Hancock. The program offers training, we supply the tank, chiller and some expertise. The salmon eggs are provided by NH Fish and Game. Our goal is to give the students the opportunity to observe the eggs develop, learn about salmon and their lifestyle and allow the students to get a stake in their local environment. They hopefully will develop an interest in the outdoors and feel more welcome in their local habitat.
