Angus Boezeman to Deliver Seminar on Stream Fishing Techniques

On February 20, Angus Boezeman will present a seminar on stream fishing techniques at Shaker Road School in East Concord from 10:30 to 12:00 noon. A donation of $10.00 is requested. All proceeds from the seminar will go toward the purchase of chillers for “Trout in the Classroom” activities in New Hampshire.
A fishing guide since 1992, Angus has taught fly fishing to anglers from all over the world and and has given seminars throughout New Hampshire, the Northeast, and in Japan. His recent article on fishing the Connecticut River appears in the Fall 2009 issue of Trout Magazine. Angus is also a past president and long time member of the Basil W. Woods Jr. Chapter of Trout Unlimited in Concord. Whether you are new to fly fishing or a seasoned expert, you cannot leave one of Angus’ talks without learning something new – and you will be entertained in the process.
Angus is donating his time on behalf of “Trout/Salmon in the Classroom,” a program supported by NH Fish and Game, NH Trout Unlimited Council, and local Trout Unlimited chapters in New Hampshire. In this popular program, students in grades k-12 raise trout from eggs to fry and learn to appreciate cold- water resources and the outdoors. Most programs end the school year by releasing their trout into a State-approved stream. Currently more than 30 NH schools are involved, and demand is increasing. The chillers that maintain the cold temperatures necessary to raise trout, however, are very expensive to purchase and repair. Donations received from this seminar will be deposited into a fund to purchase chillers for schools that cannot otherwise afford them. Even if you cannot attend the seminar, a donation would be welcome. Donations can be sent to the Basil W. Woods, Jr. Chapter TU at 26 S. Main St., Suite 279; Concord, NH 03301.

For the March meeting we'll try something different! Come on out and bring your vise and some materials and tie some flies with us! We'll set up a "Swap" area where you can bring extra materials, tools etc to see if someone can use them! Of course, you can see what treasures you can find!
So come to tie, come to watch, come to learn! We've got some great tiers in the chapter and they are very wiling to share their knowledge.
